I have worked as a freelance illustrator for 30 years. Currently working mainly in publishing creating children's books. I won the Kate Greenaway award in 2011 for a story I wrote and illustrated called; FArTHER. Last year I created a set of stamps for the Royal Mail to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the publication of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. I am currently working on a book about evolution for an international publisher and making an animated film in After Effects.
I am curious, excited and enthusiastic about creating worlds and environments and filling them with creatures, people, and beings that belong there. I love story and its place in our lives as a means to enlighten and inspire and educate. I have a great fascination with the past life of the Earth and our place in the long story of evolution. I have not worked in films yet but would love to. When I'm creating art for a book I see it in my head as a film, and so, I would love the chance and the opportunity to work in this area of creativity. I have made a living by my imagination as an illustrator for a number of years and am used to pressure and deadlines.
